Can you use a social network to galvanize the efforts of hundreds of non profits online? ReSeed California did that in 2009. Using out of the box social networking technology, set up with ClickMarkets help, ReSeed created a single point of information and contact for watching and responding to the fallout from California's bond freeze and funding. The effort resulted in being selected to receive from the Sierra Nevada Alliance, the Dean Malley Sun Tzu Award, given to a person or organization that developed a winning strategy and exemplified that to win without fighting is best. In its nomination, the Alliance said "Your leadership uniting groups, coordinating efforts, sharing up to date information, creating strategies, and implementing projects to help groups restart work around the state was exemplary!". Supported by online technologies, this effort was possible and inexpensive.
