Announcing Milsal + McCaull:  1 + 1 equals so much more!

We have combined our firms to offer a full service growth team to our joint portfolio of clients.
Milsal + McCaull brings a fantastically talented group of people together:  Elea Carey, Daniel Kee, Joanna Harrison, Lauren Lee Anderson, Eric Weisz, Jean Marc Golden, Basil James, Kyle Sleeper, as well as Rajan Gupta and Kanchan Gauri and their extensive India-based development team.  Our San Francisco office is augmented by a presence in New York and Nashville, as well as a virtual team that spans the globe from Pune, India to Portage, Indiana (literally true).

What is your mission?
We both think that the world is looking at some pretty challenging issues and the answers to those problems aren't going to be found in "more of the same" thinking.  As the world reexamines the way it's organized and goes through the upheavals of massive change, we see incredible opportunities -- innovations that will shift the planet to clean energy, a better food chain, personalized (and therefore more effective) medicine, and the more efficient delivery of education and information on multiple platforms to people, especially girls and women, anywhere in the world.  We are lucky that our combined experience and contacts give us a firm foothold in those markets.  We believe in innovators & creators & visionaries -- technologists or not -- and use our strategic and practical skills to bring those dreams to life.

What is our focus?
Launch acceleration and growth!  We are continuing to bring our attention to technologies and organizations that can have a big impact on the planet and reinvent their markets in the following areas: Software (cloud applications), biotech/personalized medicine, greentech and green products.  We can go directly to end user, work through licensing or wholesale go-to-market strategies.  We can augment or seed, then build out your team.

Why did we make this move?

We are stronger, and we have more fun, together.  After collaborating on TEDx, Exquisite and LoveSpring, and enjoying each other's no-drama, collaborative workstyle, we began to cross-staff engagements in 2011.  In the words of one client, Spoke Software CEO, Philippe Cases, "Christine's ability to think out-of-the-box combined with Taylor's bottom line focus is a unique and powerful blend." We couldn't agree more: The complementary skills and experience of our new team help bring ideas to fruition and accelerate any venture, product introduction or growth endeavor. From strategy, market entry, startup operational support, identity and branding, content development, production, outsourced sales and revenue generation -- our team has you covered.

Thank you for your support over the years. Please consider where Milsal + McCaull might help you in 2012 and let us know what you're envisioning -- what is your desire and how we can help make it a reality.

Our new website is at www.milsal.com

All the best,
Christine Mason McCaull  & Taylor Milsal

Joanna Harrison

Joanna is an award winning broadcast journalist bringing 15 years of TV and radio experience to the team. Her work has been seen and heard on CNBC, BBC, PBS and NPR.

Placing “the knack of telling a good story” at the top of her most valuable skills list, Joanna can communicate complex issues in an engaging way. Thankfully so, since she specializes in business, finance, economics, technology, energy and climate change. Highlights of her work include: producing the 2011 CNBC flagship debate at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland; producing a 4 part documentary series on “The Future of Finance” for CNBC; and a personal favorite, orchestrating Europe’s first live TV link-up with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

Joanna is also a branded content specialist, having worked at CNBC in London developing, pitching and producing strategic TV and digital solutions to companies wishing to use branded content as a way to deepen viewer engagement.

Born and raised in Britain, Joanna has a degree in Hispanic Studies from Bristol University, UK. She has a global mindset and has lived, worked and travelled all over the world, reporting from Egypt, El Salvador, Malaysia, Russia and across Europe.  She speaks fluent Spanish and to her great regret, ever more rudimentary French.

Pitch Development & Review

What's your story?  If you're selling to investors, big customers, presenting at conferences, how are you connecting with the audience and getting your message across?  Are you hot or not?

In the process of developing or reviewing a pitch deck, we have a lot of good conversations about strategy, tactics and timelines, and often unearth new concerns, opportunities or questions.

Our content team can also help with graphics and presentation polishing.

Business Model Validation

How does your organization sustain itself?  How do you make money?  What assumptions are behind your numbers?  Are there other revenue streams?  Who are you selling to?  What's the average lifetime value of a customer?  How much can you afford to pay to bring them in?

These are the kinds of questions we answer and validate to ensure our clients are positioned with the right capital to sustain the company to profitability.

Board Development

Who's in your corner?  How do you select and attract the kind of people who will help your business grow -- those that are looking out for your interests in the world.  We help identify and bring in board and advisory candidates.

Hiring & Staffing

We've helped companies like Streetwise Reports articulate position requirements, screen and pre-interview candidates, and hire the right person for a key position in a company.  This is especially helpful when the founding team is missing a key element of experience -- perhaps they are engineers and need a marketing leader, or they are business people and need a chief architect.  Bringing the right people in at the right time is key to success.

Monstrous Company

Monstrous Company has a patent-protected technology that allows music to be matched to action in digital games -- by anyone and in mere seconds. To support Monstrous with startup operations, Milsal + McCaull has identified, contacted and engaged many of the technology experts who now form the company's advisory board, including board chair; hired Danny Kee, a music industry executive with 25 years' experience in Nashville; and assisted with operations and administrative tasks such as helping construct an org chart and planning nationwide trips to meet potential customers.
